Wishing For a Rainbow
There’s a crack in the tea cup that I am holding,
And the rain splash’s on the window out side.
The man across the street watching my every move is crying,
I can’t hear him but I know,
He’s wishing for a rainbow.
There’s a crack in the pavement I am walking on,
And the rain wash’s away the tears from my face.
I dare not look back to see if the man following is gone,
I can’t see him but I know,
He’s wishing for a rainbow.
There’s a crack in the ceiling of the room I am in,
And the rain is still running beyond the curtain.
The man on top of me that I love with all my soul is crying,
I hold him close and I know,
He’s wishing for a rainbow.
